Why Choose Boxing?

If you are looking to choose a particular martial art or combat sport as the basis of your self defense skills why should you choose boxing?

In addition to its sportive applications, boxing is probably the most effective and efficient means of using your hands in a self-defense scenario. That is because the amount of force generated by a boxing punch is overwhelming and incredibly powerful. If for no other reason this is why you should learn to box.

Yet, punching is only a minor aspect of boxing.

Boxing Stands

Boxing can provide you with valuable tools and experiences that can easily be used for self defense. The basic stance of boxing is designed to provide solid mobility, maximum efficiency and power in a punch while maintaining the highest possible level of protection. Street fighters and aggressors do not have a boxing or kickboxing stance. Often, it is a squared stance which is an absolute mistake. If your stance is square and you get hit you are flying backwards…end of story.
